THE Department of Migrant Staff (DMW) claimed that as of April 8, a full of 9 abroad Filipino staff (OFWs) sustained minor to gentle injuries from the magnitude 7.2 earthquake that jolted Taiwan on Wednesday.
All the OFWs have acquired clinical focus for their accidents and are recovering in their respective enterprise dormitories and accommodations.
Their overall health and situation are staying monitored intently by the DMW’s Migrant Personnel Office in Taipei (MWO-Taipei).
The DMW is working carefully with the Manila Economic and Cultural Business office (MECO) underneath the management of chairman Silvestre H. Bello III as nicely as all its Migrant Staff Offices in Taiwan to assistance the OFWs.
The DMW deployed a 6-member augmentation crew on Monday to tackle the demands of the around 5,000 OFWs in Hualien County and encompassing counties.
The team will provide psycho-social and psychological wellness help for OFWs who have to have this kind of assistance.
Hualien, in central-eastern Taiwan, is the closest county to the epicenter of past Wednesday’s 7.2 magnitude quake found about 25 kilometers southeast off its shoreline.
