NAGPASALAMAT ang Department of Justice (DOJ) sa pamahalaan ng Timor Leste sa muling pag-aresto kay dating Congressman Arnulfo Teves Jr.
Ayon kay Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla, kinikilala ng Pilipinas ang decisive actions ng Timor Leste.
Si Teves ay Itinuturing na terorista at fugitive sa batas dahil sa ibat ibang kasi kabilang na ang murder dahil a pagpatay kay Governor Roel Degamo.
“We extend our deepest gratitude to the government of Timor Leste for their unwavering cooperation. This rearrest underscores the robust partnership between our nations and our collective commitment to eradicating impunity, regardless of one’s social status or influence,” pahayag ni Remulla..
Nanindigan si Remulla na patuloy na pagsusumikapan ng DOJ na bigyan ng hustisya ang pamilyang biktima ni Teves
“The pain and suffering of the victims’ families are not forgotten, and it is our solemn duty to ensure that those responsible are held to account,” pahayag ni Remulla.
“We assure the public and the international community that all legal procedures will be strictly adhered to, and Mr. Teves’ human rights will be respected throughout this process,” dagdag ng kalihim
Ayon kay Remulla, walang puwang ang impunity sa komunidad. Kailangan aniyang matiyak na umiiral ang batas.
Kasabay nito, umaasa si Remulla na agad na maiuuwi sa bansa si Teves para mapanagutan ang kasalanan nito.
“We look forward to Mr. Teves facing the charges against him in a court of law, and not anywhere else.” Secretary Remulla concludes. “Let this serve as a clear and unequivocal message: the Philippines remains steadfast in its pursuit of justice, and we will continue to uphold the principles of accountability and the rule of law,” pahayag ni Remulla.
