Former President Donald Trump warned there might be a “breaking point” for the public if he faces house arrest or imprisonment after his conviction in the hush money trial. In a “Fox & Friends Weekend” interview, Trump mentioned the possibility of being sentenced by Judge Juan Merchan on July 11, just before the Republican National Convention.
Trump, the presumptive Republican nominee, expressed acceptance of the potential sentencing but suggested it would be hard for the public to handle. Following his conviction, Trump supporters issued violent threats against Merchan and Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg and sought to expose the jurors’ addresses.
Trump called the trial “rigged” and a “scam,” blaming President Joe Biden and Democrats for his conviction. He vowed to appeal the verdict. Biden responded, calling Trump’s claims reckless and irresponsible. Trump is under a partial gag order from Merchan, who previously fined him and warned of imprisonment for violations.
